Now that we have completed Phase One of the Lifesong-Meserete Kristos Primary School in Ziway, we have capacity to educate students up to sixth grade, with one classroom for each.

But now we are out of space, with no additional classrooms to house sixth grade and beyond for the next year. Our goal is to eventually have two classrooms each for grades one through eight on the Lifesong-Meserete Kristos Primary School campus. In order to do that we will have to build a two-story (known here in Ethiopia as “G+1”) structure to accommodate all those classrooms and students, as well as provide a computer lab, library, etc.

Shown below is the contractor’s proposed site plan, with the new Primary School two-story building at the upper left of the drawing. At the upper right is a proposed high school; however, we have not yet obtained that land, so it is a dream for further in the future. The existing buildings (including the current school for grades 2 -6, the dining facility, the latrine, etc.) are shown in cross-hatch.
